- My name is Mrs. Meghan Gill and I am delighted to introduce myself as your child’s first grade teacher. In 2008 I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and English from Central Connecticut State University. In 2011 I earned a Master of Science degree in Special Education. I have worked in Berlin, CT with elementary school students grades K-5 in past years. Some of my experiences include working as an instructional reading teacher providing differentiated reading support including early literacy skills for primary students. I have taught first grade and kindergarten. This is my tenth year teaching in the classroom!
I am looking forward to getting to know each student in the classroom on an individual basis. I understand that your child may be sensitive to the shift from summer vacation to a full day of school and I am going to make every effort to create a smooth transition. Having a background working in diverse settings, I will make every attempt to understand the needs of your child and differentiate my instruction to meet the needs of all learners. I have learned that a diverse and well-balanced curriculum is essential for the learning process. I plan to design my classroom to be a comfortable and positive learning environment for your child.
Again, I stress my excitement in teaching your child this year. I expect to learn a lot from the students as well. I hope that this upcoming year is productive in every way and I will do everything in my power to make that happen. I consider it a great privilege and responsibility to be your child's teacher, and I look forward to a wonderful year!
